Philips Airfryers — the original air fryer, dating to 2010 — use Rapid Air with a starfish-shaped diffuser plate. The chamber is small and runs hot for the set temperature, so most general-purpose recipes need their dial dropped by 10 °F. Most consumer Philips units also cap at 400 °F (200 °C), which iterate respects.
Working with Philips Airfryer
- Use the included starfish/grid insert — it lifts food off the base so the convection air gets under it.
- Pre-heat is unnecessary; the small chamber comes up to temperature within 60 seconds.
- The QuickClean basket separates — drop the inner grid into hot soapy water and the residue lifts off without scrubbing.
