About Air Fryer Reference
Air Fryer Reference is a structured, per-food cooking database for air fryer owners. Every food gets its own page with the exact time, temperature, flip moment and doneness check — nothing else.
Why this exists
Search “how long to cook chicken breast in air fryer” and you’ll land on a 4,000-word recipe blog with the cooking time buried under nine ads, a childhood story and a printable PDF. We built the opposite: a single permalink per food, with the numbers above the fold and the method laid out in clean steps. It works on the phone you have on the counter while the basket is preheating.
Where the numbers come from
Every time-and-temperature is calibrated to a single-basket air fryer with a normal load — not a max-stuffed basket, not a dual-zone with the rapid-cook preset. We cross-reference manufacturer manuals (Cosori, Ninja, Instant Vortex, Philips, PowerXL, Breville, Cuisinart, Chefman, GoWise) with USDA internal-temperature safety guidance for poultry, pork, beef and seafood — consolidated on our internal-temperature chart. Where brands differ meaningfully the adjustment shows up on the food page itself and on a dedicated per-brand profile.
What’s here today
- 310 per-food cards — proteins, vegetables, frozen staples, breakfast items — each with full method, doneness check, safety notes and a printable single-card view.
- 9 brand calibration profiles — Cosori, Ninja, Instant Vortex, Philips, PowerXL, Breville, Cuisinart, Chefman and GoWise, each with a per-food cook-time table calibrated to that brand’s heating profile. Every food page links straight to the right row.
- Frozen-to-air-fryer section — dedicated pages for fries, tater tots, mozzarella sticks, chicken nuggets, wings, breaded shrimp and more, each with brand-by-brand timings (Ore-Ida, Tyson, SeaPak, Trader Joe’s, Kirkland, Alexia…).
- Reheat section — how to restore crispness on leftover pizza, pasta, fried chicken, rotisserie chicken, fries, mozzarella sticks, egg rolls, pot stickers and breadsticks.
- Oven → air fryer conversion calculator — paste an oven temp and time, get the air fryer equivalent (general -25 °F / -20% rule, with per-food override when you pick a known dish).
- What you should never put in — a single safety page covering fire-risk items, things that won’t cook, and what damages the appliance.
- Instant search and filters — search-as-you-type on the homepage with synonym matching; on the full food index, filter by category or total cook-time.
- Schema.org structured data — Recipe, HowTo, FAQPage and BreadcrumbList JSON-LD on every food page so Google rich results show the temp, time and steps directly in the SERP.
- Mobile-first design— large readable numbers and minimal chrome, optimised for one-handed phone use while you’re cooking.
- Dark and light themes — both ship from day one with full WCAG-AA contrast. The toggle in the header persists across visits.
