Privacy policy

The site is a static reference: there is no account system, no comments, and no contact form. We do not ask you to enter any personal information to read the cooking pages. We do not set our own tracking cookies.

When you toggle dark or light theme, your preference is stored in your browser’s localStorage under the key theme. That value never leaves your device.

Our hosting provider records standard web server access logs: requesting IP address, user-agent string, URL, timestamp and HTTP response code. These are retained for a short period to support security and abuse-prevention. We do not attempt to link these logs to individual identities.

We display advertising on the site to keep it free. Ad networks (we currently plan to use Google AdSense) may set their own cookies and may use information about your visit to this site and your previous visits to serve ads.

You can review and control Google’s ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com, and opt out of personalised advertising more broadly via the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org.

We may add privacy-respecting analytics (such as Plausible or a Google Analytics 4 install configured without cross-site tracking) to understand which pages people read. If we do, we’ll update this policy to name the tool before it is enabled.

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

If you are in the EU/EEA, the UK, or California, you have rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA respectively, including the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you. Because the site does not collect identifying information directly, requests are typically a matter of contacting the relevant advertising or analytics provider above.

We may revise this policy as the site evolves (for example, when we add a new analytics tool or, eventually, an optional paid tier). Substantive changes will be reflected in the effective date at the top of this page.
