Sauce is bubbling at the edges of the dish; pasta is heated through; the top has just begun to brown if uncovered.
Technique
Transfer the pasta to a small oven-safe dish that fits inside the basket. Add 1 tablespoon of water or extra sauce, cover with foil for the first 3 minutes, then uncover for the final 2 to crisp the top.
Watch out for
- Reheating dry pasta without sauce or water will turn it crunchy and inedible. Always add liquid.
- Skip the air fryer entirely for delicate pasta in cream sauces — the sauce breaks. Use the stovetop for those.
