- Serving
- 1–2 meatloaf slices (½–¾ inch thick) in a single layer
- leftover
Doneness
Surface has the same colour as the original cook (slightly darker glaze if reapplied); slices are hot through when split with a fork; the centre is moist but not raw-looking.
Technique
Slice the meatloaf into individual portions first — reheating a whole loaf in the basket overcooks the outer crust before the centre warms through. Place slices flat on the basket grate; flip once at 2 minutes. If the meatloaf has a ketchup or glaze top, brush a fresh thin layer on before reheating so the surface caramelises and re-seals rather than drying out into a leather skin.
Watch out for
- Do not exceed 5 minutes total. Past 5, the outside crust gets jerky-tough.
- Skip the reheat for meatloaf that has been sitting in pan juices — drain on a paper towel first or those wet edges turn rubbery.
- Stuffed meatloaf (with cheese, vegetables inside) takes the same 4 minutes but the cheese filling will be very hot — let cool 60 seconds before biting.
