Doneness
Sticks are evenly golden on all sides with the cinnamon-sugar coating slightly caramelised; the centre is steaming and soft when broken open.
Oil & seasoning
None — the sticks are pre-coated with batter and butter.
Season with: powdered sugar dusting (optional), warm maple syrup for dipping.
Watch out for
- Do not thaw — frozen-from-the-bag is the right starting state. Thawed sticks turn mushy.
- Single layer only — stacked sticks fuse together and the centre stays cold while the outside burns.
- Watch closely after minute 5 — the cinnamon-sugar coating caramelises fast and can burn in 30 seconds once it crosses the threshold.
