Doneness
The rice is tender with a few golden, toasted grains and no raw crunch. It should look dry and fluffy, not wet — drain thawed frozen rice well first.
Oil & seasoning
Toss with about a teaspoon of oil so the grains toast instead of drying out.
Season with: salt, garlic powder, black pepper, onion powder.
Watch out for
- Line the basket with perforated parchment or use a foil packet so the small grains don't fall through.
- Pat thawed frozen cauliflower rice dry, or it steams and turns soggy.
- Shake the basket halfway for even toasting.
- Don't overcrowd — a thin layer crisps; a deep pile steams.
